Benefits Of investing in Mutual Fund ?

If someone told you that there is an investment option that is managed by an expert, has an expert looking into it, and lets you get started with even a small amount, would you be interested? Mutual funds can offer you such advantages, and much more.

The popularity of mutual funds is on the rise. More and more people are keen to invest in them and for good reason. Even though mutual funds carry with them a factor of risk, the fact remains that the risk is actually mitigated as a result of the age old saying, “don't put all your eggs in the same basket.” An investment in mutual funds can be a turn into a very good investments since the returns that it provides can be very good while mitigating losses. Investors also don't need to be experts on the markets since these investments are made with the help of an army of experts who take the best call possible on where to invest. But these are just a few of the advantages of mutual funds. Great as they may be, one thing must always be remembered with mutual funds, and that is that they always carry the element of risk because they are investments that are linked to the markets

Mentioned below are a few advantages associated with mutual funds

Smart investment

The first thing to do would be to talk about risks. If you were to invest all your money in one industry and that industry failed, you'd lose a lot of money, but with mutual funds, such risks are mitigated by spreading the investments over various avenues, like stocks and bonds, to ensure that even if one generates losses the rest can control the amount you lose.

Choice of risk

Stay with talking about risk, mutual funds also offer a choice of low, medium and high risk funds. These are meant to satiate your appetite for risks. A high risk fund offers the highest returns but the losses will also be high where as a medium risk fun tends to balance risk with return a little better where as low risk funds carry the least risk of losses and, consequently, the least returns of the three too.

Investing in a variety of instruments

Imagine ordering a thaali at your favourite restaurant where you can eat a variety of different foods in one affordable package! Mutual funds also work in a similar way.

Mutual Funds invest in a wide range of securities. This diversification reduces the risk by limiting the effect of a possible decline in the value of any one security. You achieve this diversification through a Mutual Fund with far less money than you can do on your own.

Convenience

You can invest directly with the fund house or through your financial advisor. You get regular information on the value of your investments and portfolios of the schemes.

Professional Management
Mutual fund investments are managed by experienced and skilled professionals, who with the help of an investment research team, analyzes the performance & prospects of companies and selects suitable investments to achieve the objective of the scheme.

Easy access to your money

In open-ended mutual funds, you can redeem all or part of your units any time you wish. Some schemes do have a lock-in period where an investor cannot return the units until the completion of such a lock-in period. With close-ended schemes, you can sell your units on a stock exchange at the prevailing market price or avail of the facility of repurchase through Mutual Funds at NAV related prices which some close-ended and interval schemes offer you on maturity of scheme or periodically, as the case maybe.

MUTUAL FUND INVESTMENTS ARE SUBJECT TO MARKET RISKS, READ ALL SCHEME RELATED DOCUMENTS CAREFULLY.

The saga of triple D – Demonetization, Digitalization, Democratization

Surgical strike on currency ban has created one of the greatest debate of our time ever since Independence. Political and Economist are divided on two way opinion, like any other debate, demonetisation to some is like a demon, to others, it could be beginning of true democracy of equality – bridging gap between have and have-nots’
I ‘ve a very different opinion to share - far away from- what Political class or Economist are analysing.
I firmly believe, Demonetization is step ahead or towards Digitalization or cash less economy- finally destined to deliver true Democracy of equality. Economy, where all transaction will be either enabled by plastic, e wallet or some e gateways or even texting (sms) or sharing mere Adhar No. We are talking about real time transaction, where it can be track-n-traced and therefore zero chance of black economy. Imagine the compounding effect in a year for an economy, like India due to its sheer volume and size.
I ‘m not going to talk about social impact of this initiative, such as anti social activities, terrorism, bribing etc. neither am I interested to talk about Fake Currency eradication and its impact on economy but a very different interesting angle. An angle around which politics, power and people revolves. Yes my friend, Modi has polarised entire country but this time it’s not around caste or Hinduthva but around rich and poor, voting and nonvoting class. Through this initiative he is going to win over every poor citizen of this country for ever, making every other political party practically defunct. Any which case, he has already made many of them invertebrate by ‘Note Ban’- actually it was intelligently ‘Vote Ban’.
Do be get cheated with fake notes? Just leave a missed call on Moneymindz.com India’s Best Financial Advisor 022-62116588 or Download Financial Freedom application and post to expert your Queries . Political class ever since Independence replaced monarchy with pseudo democracy by buying vote before election. Modi with his master stoke has created a New Normal, where by effective use of technology and fear factor of IT is trying to bridge the gap between poor and rich. In a digital economy if nothing incremental least entire amount of daily wage goes to BPL class and that alone can create huge impact to his/her purchasing power or livelihood.
For the first time rich man and poor man stood in lines to convert notes- as if this was another quit India movement! Yes, quit from bribery, corruption, black economy, hoarding, fake currency terrorism and goonda raj. In fact, Dawn newspaper from Pakisthan reported that Fake currency kingpin, Javed Khanani died immediate after note ban imposition- resulting into huge loss and as a result he committed suicide. Similarly, there was sudden silence and calm in the valley after many month of protest and violence- such was far reaching of Demonitization.
Today, terrorist in the valley are dry and hence stopped activities funded though this black money channel- if this is not a change for good as some political parties fry foul, then what is that they were expecting.

Funds needed in a portfolio

Well, my answer is ‘it depends’. Do not be disappointed. If you knew the factors that determine the number of funds, you need to hold, you will likely have the answer yourself. So, here’s what you need to take into account before choosing the number of funds to hold in a portfolio.

The amount

While this is not the first thing to influence your decision, it is the most practical point to consider when investing, especially by small, retail investors. If you had Rs. 1,000 or Rs. 2,000 to invest every month, you cannot possibly have an asset balanced, category allocated, and style-diversified portfolio of funds. It leaves you with an option of one or two funds at best. When you have a single-fund portfolio, it is a good idea to get this right: one, the choice (debt or equity fund) of asset class based on your period; two, if it is an equity fund, do not hold a mid/small cap, theme, or international fund as the one fund you hold. Often times, this is one reason why many first-time investors are disenchanted with mutual fund investing. They would have chosen a risky fund to begin with, and would have probably burnt their fingers in a down market. If you have a higher sum to invest – say Rs. 5,000 or above, then arises the question of asset allocation and diversification.

Asset allocation

If you need to allocate across asset classes, then you may need 2 or more funds, unless you think a balanced fund would suffice. If you are investing in a portfolio with a specific goal in mind, then ensure you have a proper asset allocation based on the goal and time frame. If you are clear that you have already allocated certain sums outside of mutual funds for certain asset classes like debt or gold (say deposits or physical gold) for the said goal, then this might be a less significant factor to consider. Otherwise, asset allocation helps capitalise the returns across various asset classes, while acting as a hedge against the other assets. Once you decide the proportion of equity, debt or gold to hold – the next requirement would be to decide how many funds to hold within each asset class.

Diversification

Now, this is key. If you are an investor who does not think you need a portfolio diversified across market cap or different styles of investing, then holding one or two diversified equity funds, and perhaps an income fund for debt may suffice, provided you are a long-term investor. Of course, when you have a concentrated portfolio, make sure you get the funds reviewed at least annually as the risk profile of your portfolio would be high as a result of taking fewer bets.

Kalpana Chawla first Indian women in space: who love to fly!

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian American astronaut and the first woman of Indian origin in space. She first flew on Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator. In 2003, Chawla was one of the seven crew members killed in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Early Life of Kaplana Chawla

Kalpana Chawla was born on March 17, 1962. Her official date of birth was altered to 1 July 1961 to allow her to join school underage. While other children of her age dressed their Barbie dolls, Kalpana liked to draw pictures of airplanes. She was not always the top student in her class but had a very inquisitive mind. After getting a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh she moved to the United States in 1982 where she obtained the Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984.
In 1997, she became the first Indian-born woman and the second Indian person to fly in space.

Her first flight was on Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator. The mission began on November 19, 1997, and Kalpana was a part of a six-astronaut crew.On her first mission, Chawla traveled over 10.4 million miles in 252 orbits of the earth, logging more than 372 hours in space.During STS-87, she was responsible for deploying the Spartan satellite which malfunctioned, necessitating a spacewalk by Winston Scottand Takao Do Her to capture the satellite. A five-month NASA investigation fully exonerated Chawla by identifying errors in software interfaces and the defined procedures of flight crew and ground control Last ride to spa

Her last ride to space

In 2000, Kalpana was selected for her second flight as a part of the crew of STS-107. The mission got repeatedly delayed and was finally launched in 2003.

Chawla died in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster which occurred on February 1, 2003

When the Columbia disintegrated over Texas during re-entry into, the Earth's atmosphere with the death of all of seven crew members, shortly before it was scheduled to conclude its 28th mission, STS-107. Just 16 minutes before landing, the space shuttle burnt and disintegrated, killing all on board. This accident was believed to be caused by a damaged aluminium heat-insulating tile on the left wing of the shuttle. This caused the whole body of the shuttle to heat up, eventually burning it.

Betrayal of trust carries a heavy taboo: Financial advice on Mutual Fund

Even though not all people think, they are being deceived, truth of the matter is, it is easy to be deceived whatever you think you are or not, many things are full of lies and have a negative impact on today's society. Because your minds tend to sometimes turn off and you start to believe all those lies and you see them everywhere in magazines, books, billboards and even on television.

When you read a magazine do you ever wish you could be as pretty, skinny or flawless a person you see? Truth is you cannot. Everything they do to a person in a magazine is fake that is right it is almost 100% photo shopped. This makes many young teenagers think they are not and will never be good enough, or even accepted into today’s world.

This makes teens want to change themselves or be better, be skinnier, be FLAWLESS! That is impossible. Do not put yourself down because you think you are not good enough or will ever be good enough because you are and will always be good enough.

There was a quote saying, “How you see yourself guides a lot of your choices, opinions, and feelings about things like dating, love, friendship and basically everything else in your life.”

You should see yourself as you, not as someone else. Do not change yourself to be accepted, do not change yourself at all. You should want to be accepted they way you are. That may be hard but it really is not. Find the truth in yourself and your friends. You will hear and see lies but it is your job not to ignore them.

Once upon a time, there was lion in the jungle, dying of hunger because there was scarcity of food. A villager promised it to feed but on one condition – he has to come alone.

However, the kind-hearted lion melted as soon as others asked it for help. To the misery, the villager denied providing it food as the lion violated his orders.

Do not trust others blindly, just as the lion was deceived by the advice of other animals similarly dubious investment tips do not help investors.

One must make his own judgement and always consult a good financial advisor.

Are your parents soon be retiring? Here are some tips:

Parents are generally not comfortable discussing their retirement plans with their children because, for them, it might mean admitting to their shortcomings or simply because they do not feel it is time to disclose their true financial worth. That is why you need to approach this subject with sensitivity and more importantly with practical plans in place.

1. Understand their expenses:

Ask your parents what is their monthly expenditure and how do they intend to meet them, after retirement. Let us start with some basic questions like:

Where would your parents like to live after retiring? Are they willing to stay with you or in their respective homes? If the latter, how close are they towards owning the property?

Does it need any alterations, repairs? Is there money set aside for such things?

Would they need any monetary contributions from your end?

2. Plan for income streams:

Start with the common questions:

Are they likely to receive any pension from their days of service, if yes, how much? How can they create alternate revenue streams, from their Fixed Deposits or other types of the corpus that they have created over the years? For example, if they have multiple smaller FDs, it might make sense to put them all in fewer and more manageable debt funds or FDs to take care of their monthly expenses.

3. Assess existing investments:

Once you have figured out your parents’ monthly expenses, you can discuss options to meet these. You can also discuss their existing investments, and help them organize the investments to meet their expenses. If an insurance matures close to the time of their retirement, can you help them reinvest this sum, and where?

4. Pay off loans:

If your parents wish to stay in their personal home, but have taken a loan for it, it is advisable that this loan, paid off before they retire. The same goes for any other loans. You can offer to help with these loans as well. Inquire about the amount that are yet to be repaid and the time remaining for the same.

Will home loans be the next big worry for banks?

Home loan growth is likely to be lower than the previous years as buyers and investors will defer their home purchase on expected correction in real estate prices. Following demonetization, the growth in home loans in FY 2017 is likely to be lower at 16-18% from earlier expectations of 18-20%, as stated by a rating company. Demand from the self-employed segment is also likely to be subdued, as their business volumes may have affected. Reduction in MCLR by various banks could lead to increased competition and balance transfers, especially in the prime salaried segment, a report said.

In the Union Budget, the government has given 39% higher allocations under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana along with infrastructure status accorded to affordable housing projects will stimulate wider investor community and improve the access to funding avenues. While growth in the prime home loan segment could witness moderation, affordable housing segment is likely to grow at a faster pace than industry with efforts, made to address the supply, demand and affordability issues. Asset quality indicators continue to remain resilient with the Gross NPAs of 0.8% as on September 30, 2016. Post demonetization, the delinquencies in the affordable housing and self-employed segments would increase given the borrowers’ reliance on cash transactions. Given the expected correction in property prices liquidity of properties may hamper, affecting the loss given default. Despite rising portfolio vulnerability owing to increasing share of non-housing loans, higher share of self-employed and low-income borrowers within housing loan segment and high competitive intensity leading to dilution in lending norms (like relaxation of LTVs/FOIRs), a gross NPAs for HFCs to remain range bound between 0.9% - 1.3% over the medium term. Incremental funding costs for HFCs have come down considerably in the second half of FY2017 with many HFCs raising funds at median rates of 7.5-8%. Therefore, cost of funds is likely to moderate further for HFCs. The reported capital adequacy for HFCs remained comfortable, due to the benefit from relatively lower risk.

Do not step forward without proper advice: A couple’s horrifying tale

Nothing looks sweeter but a couple, who got into each other since college days and ended up getting married. Travelling under the night sky, stars blinking billions of light years away, and head rested on his shoulder, silent look into each other’s eyes with no one to bat eyes on them. Automatically a rendition of soulful piano and violin starts playing inside – a story about two young adults as they grew up together making memories. Ranjan, a banker married Tia, a digital marketing executive and are happy when a blessing news wrapped the couple in felicity. Tia was pregnant and she had plans for their future. Let us get into the accounts of one of her horrifying tales.

“I knew that having our first child meant that getting life insurance should be a top priority for both me and my husband. We researched policies, got a quote for an affordable term life insurance policy and had our medical exams. Imagine my surprise when, a few weeks later, the agent called me back and told me my new adjusted rate.

The cost of my policy had gone from a reasonable monthly fee they had quoted me—to nearly four times that amount. The reason, he said, was that my cholesterol levels were high. I called my doctor in a panic. Cholesterol levels always spike during pregnancy, she reassured me, and they probably will not be back to normal until a few months after you give birth.

After doing some research, I found that it is nearly always better to get a life insurance policy before you get pregnant to avoid potential price hikes brought on by temporary conditions during pregnancy. While some companies account for the fact that I gained weight due to the pregnancy, factors like higher blood pressure or postpartum depression can also affect your ability to get the best rates.

Now my daughter is three months old, and I am still waiting for my numbers to dip before starting again. I really wish I had known to start this process when trying to conceive instead.”

A blunder can harm people so much, maybe a lifetime. Therefore, it is better to take an advice before vouching for personal choices. Contact, Moneymindz, the best free financial advisory services. An advice should pass rather than keeping to oneself.

Limitations of Insurance Certificates

Policyholders mainly depend on certificates of insurance to prove that insurance coverage exists. However, in reality, the certificate of insurance has limited functionality as evidence of insurance coverage. While it may alleviate the potential for additional audit premiums, it is misused and over-valued and can easily leave the recipient with a false sense of security.

Limitations of these certificates:

There are, however, certain issues and limitations with certificates:

1) Possibly compromised limits:

The limits of liability shown on the certificate of insurance are the exact amounts as shown in the insurance policy when issued. What you will not see is any reduction resulting from a claim and the reduced limits. A certificate is never adjusted to reflect any reductions in limits because of any claims.

2) It does not reflect subsequent changes:

The certificate contains information on the date of issuance. The next day, either the first named insured or the insurance company could make changes and there is generally no legal obligation on the part of the insurance carrier or its legal representative to provide any notice of changes or cancellations. Some of the changes can be quite significant including: cancellation due to non-payment, at the insured’s request, for underwriting reasons or the exhaustion of the policy limits; reduction or removal of certain coverage or limits from within the policy; or the removal of additional insured status, waiver of subrogation, or primary and non-contributory.

3) Policy terms, conditions limitations or requirements:

Every insurance policy will contain terms, conditions, limitations or requirements that can cause major coverage defects if not known or properly handled. As a certificate holder, you may not know if your required endorsements, which were properly added or what the requirements are for you to have status as an additional insured. It is imperative to have some understanding of these from another source, as they will most likely not appear on a certificate.

4) Other states coverage:

Workers compensation insurance is state-specific and the certificate may not list all the states for which coverage is required and afforded. This can become an issue in dealing with claims, audits and liability exposures.

5) Coverage confusion:

Agents and brokers may indicate that certain coverage or provisions, provided when, in fact, they are not. This can result in a denial of a claim by the insurer. A claim dispute can consume time and money and whether or not you will prevail is subject to many factors, such as jurisdiction, applicable state laws and court interpretations.

Functions of stock market

Markets go crawling up, fortunes are built, and fortunes are lost. Just name it as people have seen it all.

As everybody might expect to stay profitable over the years, traders have studied the markets and followed trends very carefully to devise the right methods and strategies to make consistent profits through trading.

Whenever a company wants to raise funds for further expansion or setting up a new business venture, they have to take a loan from a financial organization or they have to issue shares through the stock market. In fact, the stock market is the primary source for any company to raise funds for business expansions. If a company wants to raise some, capital for the business it can issue shares of the company that is part ownership of the company. To issue shares for the investors to invest in the stocks a company needs to be listed to a stocks exchange and through the primary market of the stock exchange they can issue the shares and get the funds for business requirements. There are certain rules and regulations for being listed at a stock exchange and they need to fulfil some criteria to issue stocks and go public. The stock market is primarily the place where these companies are listed to issue the shares and raise the fund. In case of an already listed public company, they issue more shares to the market for collecting more funds for business expansion. For the companies, which are going public for the first time, they need to start with the Initial Public Offering or the IPO. In both the cases, these companies have to go through the stock market.

This is the primary function of the stock exchange and thus they play the most important role of supporting the growth of the industry and commerce in the country. That is the reason that a rising stock market is the sign of a developing industrial sector and a growing economy of the country.

Of course, this is just the primary function of the stock market and just an half of the role that the stock market plays. The secondary function of the stock market is that the market plays the role of a common platform for the buyers and sellers of these stocks that have a listed at the stock market. The secondary market of the stock exchange constitutes of retail investors and institutional investors buy and sell the stocks. In fact, these stock market traders raise the fund for the businesses by investing in the stocks.

Let us make advices be your priority

It was Monday morning, when people who regularly play with their TV remote for stock market news suddenly switched their channel to see the fluctuations of players for the tenth season in IPL bifurcating from their regular keenness on stock indices. Indeed, it is truly a magnificent event as of pollsters predicting election outcomes and analysts for stock market, cricket gurus were no behind in analysing who would be the most expensive player yesterday. Every season amazes us with a wonder kid sold for a walloping amount, usually a familiar face most of the time. But, in this season, it was something different when the trend line changed its course and some not so well known players were sold for crores. T. Nataranjan, MD. Shiraj and Aniket Chaudhury all came out from the ashes beating notable players like Pujara and Ishant Sharma, for whom viewers went crazy to be a part of their territorial team. Another underdog from Karnataka, K. Gowtham caught our eyes when Mumbai Indians took him for two crores. Finally, people may call it luck but dedication and sheer hard work always pays off even during a series of unfortunate events like Brexit and Demonetization, Ben stokes was the man with the longest smile.

Big companies are expected to perform and people like going there – It is like for safety and backup. Little do they know that they might end up failing to understand what they are planning, what they are buying and what they are getting? Advices are similar to preaching. People speak, plead or argue in favour of someone. Likewise, before getting into a big company for insurance policy, mutual funds etc., it is better to have a hand on them or precisely an “idea” on the products that you are likely to buy.  When people expected big players to come out wealthiest, some unknown figures became the news on Monday. It was truly unexpected and surely, this world is full of equivocality.
